LOGAN COUNTY - An ambulance carrying five people including a pregnant patient slammed into a semi truck - killing two people.
The semi and the ambulance collided on I-76, southwest of Sterling, and northeast of Fort Morgan.
The accident happened around 4:00 p.m. Tuesday. Westbound I-76 was closed for hours at Atwood and Brush.
Investigators have not released who was killed or which vehicle the persons were in.
LOGAN COUNTY -- A crash between a semi truck and an ambulance at mile marker 110 on Interstate 76 claimed two lives Tuesday afternoon.
The deceased were both in the ambulance and were pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities say both vehicles were westbound in the right lane when the ambulance collided with the rear end of the semi trailer.
The interstate remains closed between Atwood and Brush while an investigation continues. U.S. Highway 6 is an alternate route.

The Rural/Metro ambulance was carrying a patient from Nebraska to Denver at the time of the accident.
(AP) STERLING, Colo. An ambulance slammed into the rear of a semitrailer on Interstate 76, killing two people, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
Trooper Eric Wynn said the crash occurred at about 4 p.m., 15 miles west of Sterling in the westbound lanes.
Karen Woods, 43, and Vicky Thomas were passengers in the ambulance and were both pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, Chris Larusso, 22, and passenger Dan Beza, 31, were transported to Sterling Regional Medical Center with unknown injuries.
Kelsey Schlichenmayer was a patient in the ambulance and suffered serious injuries from the crash.
The cause of the crash was still under investigation.
