Why would the forum need that? You can sign up for text messages and emails for amber alerts, I just think that feature here would be kind of silly.

Seriously? Silly? Is it silly if you can save a child's life? Is it silly if you can help reunite a child with his family? Is it silly if you can put a child predator in jail? Is it silly if you can help find the body of a child so his parents can finally have peace? Is that all so silly?

I know that if my child was missing, I would want as many people knowing as possible.

I can honestly say I would never want you to be my parent because finding me would obviously be, just to silly.

.
My idea is not to "patent" this idea, or start something in the forum, im just not understanding why this would be a bad idea for our forum, we have a ton of worthless forums here, why not add something that is informitive and useful?
i have a 3 year old daughter, and if she went missing, there would be hell to pay for the predator from me and the police,
So this is why i offered up this idea, not to start something in the forum, i would never want to see a parent go through something like a missing child, as much as i dislike certian people, i would never wish a missing child upon anyone,

Thank you for the backup...

Amber alerts are all over the media, in fact they activate the EAS for amber alerts. I am not against saving childrens lives, but people in the area the child was abducted have already heard about it 750 times so I doubt 751 times would make a difference. Besides that, about 90% of the amber alerts you hear about turn out not to bo abductions.

And that is a good point. Most are not abductions, but it could still help save them. I guess I got a little mad about personal experience with a missing child who is still missing. My apologies for the insult. My temper got the better of me.

I truly am sorry to hear that. I hope everything works out.

I think if there is an ongoing report, it can spread the news to adjacent states and area's, What if there is a child taken across state lines?..
How many times has a child gone missing only to end up deceased in another county or state?
We never know what the outcome of such a situation, so why not put the word out there and maybe, just maybe, information or a photo might get passed along and someone might see and save a child...

Anyone who can access radioreference forums can access any of the missing child sites just as easily. I fail to see how discussing it in radioreference forums can be any more beneficial. I find it interesting that a number of peoples worlds here revolve around radioreference and nothing else. They come here to discuss or ask for anything under the sun when usually another website is better suited. Google is the perfect example. Radioreference.com is a fabulous website for its purpose, but it is not the center of the universe.

Thanks for the suggestion, however at this time we don't plan on implementing a missing children alert forum.

Warm regards,

Lindsay
