Hello. I have a question that I hope anyone on here can answer for me.

I am from ZONE 3 in Chapleau. The other day I saw on Trunk88 that our Ambulance unit had pressed their EMERGENCY BUTTON by accident I guess, and when one of our guys came on, he said: 10-2000 ALPHA CHARLIE.

So I am just wondering does 10-2000 mean send police immediately. If it does, when he said that, I never heard our OPP guys getting a call for that. The Ambulance just returned to base a couple minutes after and everything was fine. Let me know if 10-2000 does mean send police immediately.

What does ALPHA CHARLIE mean. I never heard that said before.

Also if there is any other terms like that, that I should know about, let me know. So if they ever say stuff like that I will know what it means.

So I will be waiting for any replies to this post. Thanks.

10-2000 would indicate "send police immediately" and/or that the medics are in danger. "Alpha Charlie" is what the medics would say to let the dispatcher know that everything is okay and that there is no problem -- indeed, it stands for "all clear".
