Hello, I have sent up the pipe my updated information on the system. I do have a few questions. The numbers that pop up on the bottom line of my Pro-95 scanner, ie 613, 616, 617, ect. What do they mean? Do AEP personal change channels on there radios to change from one tower to tower? Like from Elk Citys to Weatherfords to Hobarts to ect.

Hey Lee,

The numbers that pop up on the bottom line of my Pro-95 scanner, ie 613, 616, 617, ect. What do they mean?
Those numbers that you see on your Pro-95 are talkgroup "channels", if you will. Every department will have a different talkgroup assigned to it.

Do AEP personal change channels on there radios to change from one tower to tower?
Remember that "channels" are really talkgroups and so the short answer to you question, should be, no. As they move around, they should just keep talking as they always do .. one of the features of a trunked system.

I say, should be is because AEP is a system that has not got a lot of attention in Oklahoma so we really do not know. Thanks for posting and as you listen try to link talkgroup id's to specific activites, dispatch, etc.

:)
