TM-V71 mounted in an ammo case I picked up from the Army-Navy store.
I was assigned to a "sag" van in the MS150 Oct 3rd and 4th 09'. The following
is how I transported my radio. The ammo case went between the passenger
seat and driver's seat (as there was no center console). Pre installed in the van
was a VHF Yaesu for APRS.

Nice... I like the idea, especially for use in a sag wagon.

When I did a bike tour for the first time last year, I had 7watt HT, a 5watt HT for backup, and a mag mount antenna. A wee bit cumbersome. This gives me an idea. How do you run your power?

for power I used a cigarette plug adapter, but this upcoming year, im going to use alligator clips to the battery terminals. just to free up a plug (dash light, cellphone charger, ect...)!!!

Nice portable setup. I have thought about doing something like this myself, only using 12 volt motorcycle battery.

May not be fancy, but sure beats paying for the very expensive Portable Emergency Monitoring Station (PEMS) from Scanner Master.
