Sad to report, after several satisfied purchases with Amphenol, it is my experience with my last order of a BNC Cable, that the quality has gone from Superior to Walmart.

I can no longer recommend Amphenol:

I used to sell Amphenol products to industry back in the early 70's. Back then they were a top notch corporation with a highly respected product. They were widely specked out for the military, aerospace, and other professional, demanding applications. It's ashame they didn't maintain their standards that built their reputation. Like so many other companies in the U.S.

It looks to me like somebody just bought the rights to use the name "Amphenol" in the name of another company. It says in the "about" site that is a division of Amphenol--Probably all made & assembled in China.
Amphenol still makes some very good & (expensive) connectors that are silver & gold plated and about twice as much as the cheaper nickel plated ones.
