Amplified Speaker

Are there any reasonably priced amplified speakers for handheld scanners available? since radioshack quit selling them, have not been able to find any, I bought a uniden model, BC-23A, it worked until the warranty expired. I would like to have a Motorola powered speaker, we had them on our radios on the Railroad, they were rugged, but I don't know it they could be adapted to work with a handheld scanner. Thanks

This works pretty well and runs off internal battery or USB.It even comes with a 3.5mm connector cable.

The only concern is to make sure the speaker ground is not connected to the scanner ground or you can cause problems with the scanner audio amplifier output.

RR has a link filter (viglink) that arbitrarily blocks stuff sometimes.
