AMR unit in Roseburg

Hello all saw a AMR ambulance in Roseburg on Saturday. Not really near I-5, actually driving city streets. I thought that Roseburg was under contract by Douglas CO Fire Dist. 2. Any one shed some light? Thanks for the help.

Probably down there dropping off a patient. Could have either come from Portland or Grants Pass. Since the VA is down there, a lot of patients get transferred there for long term care. That is my thinking.

AMR does not have any contract in Douglas County.

Thats what I thought, but they heading toward the rural part of Roseburg. No where near the VA. Maybe they got lost??

AMR in Roseburg

AMR has long had a desire to operate in Douglas County. I know that I am definitely not alone in my wish to see that happen. They are a highly capable, very professional company and do not cost the taxpayers one red cent. We now have a tax-funded fire district ambulance service (Douglas County Fire District 2) in place in most of the county. It would make so much more sense to have a tax-paying business, such as AMR... a company which is beholden to no politician(s)...at the helm of our county’s medical transportation industry. I hope it happens soon.
