My gripe with all the news coverage is the pressure of the 24/7 news cycle and the frenetic effort of each reporter to get the scoop over the other 82,000 reporters on the scene. "Experts" are pulled out of the woodwork by CNN, Fox News and MSNBC to pronounce insightful insightful comments on the reason for the tragic event and the rush to affix blame.

It goes without saying the eight lives were lost too early, and families should be allowed to grieve in private if that is their choice. But until complete analysis of the recorders' data, the equipment, the trackbed and interviews of involved people the NTSB and other agencies should be off limits to the press. Rush to judgement is invariably incomplete or wrong. The dribbling of information piecemeal just stirs the loins of lawyers and politicians.

FWIW I would be surprised if there is a singular cause to the derailment... but that's me. Pfft.
