HUDSON, Colo. -- A mother and child were killed crossing a train track in Hudson Wednesday night.
The accident happened just after 11:30 p.m. near Highway 52.
Adams County deputies said the victims were a 26-year-old woman and a 2-year-old child. Their identities have not been released.
Investigators believe the mother was trying to beat the Amtrak train by running across the track.
The train was headed from California to Chicago and was delayed for several hours while police investigated the deaths.
