Yesterday I was driving down the QEW coming back into Niagara, and I noticed the truck driver beside me was talking on his radio. As boring as it would be to listn to, is there a way to pick that up?? If so, what frequency does it operate on?

Thanks anyway,
Doug :)

re-truck driver

Truck drivers most of the time have CB Radio's in their trucks, just tune into the CB frequencies.

You'd want to program in 27.185 Mhz in AM if your radio will allow that to be recieved. That would be the CB Radio Ch. 19

Most trucking companies use telus mike for security. You might wonder what there is to secure, no trucking company wants another to hear a dispatcher saying something to the effect of " Truck 17 hurry up on that p\u at abc inc. this is the third time this week we have screwed up blah blah."

In my area there are a number of 'common' frequencies that seem to be used by lots of truckers, mainly logging, oilfield rig haulers, etc. I would suspect they're not common between Ontario and Alberta, though. In the Prairies section of the TAFL, one of the common freqs, 167.535, has about 870 zillion users, including Parks Canada, Husky Oil Operations, individual names, etc.

Around where I am, 167.880 is one that seems to fit this category,
although I haven't heard a whole lot on it. Maybe that's because
most of it looks to be simplex and not necessarily close by.
