The system sends out data on the control/rest channel and when a conversation starts it will send out what LCN that conversation are using. The "real" radios in the system are programmed so say what frequency each LCN are using. With a scanner you do not have that info and you must figure it out for yourself. Unidens LCN finder could help but it is easier using DSD+ and Dmrdecode.
If the freqeuency and LCN do not match exactly the scanner will try and monitor a frequency where there is no conversation and goes back to the control/rest channel and repeat until it uses a LCN that has a correct frequency.
