I saw another post that said Anchorage fire is 800 trunked and Anchorage PD us UHF. The list for PD does not list any assignments for the PD channels does anyone have a breakdown on channel usage?

I will be crusing from Anchorage (via Whittier) to Vancouver going through Glacier Bay with stops in Skagway, Juneau and Ketchikan. Patrick posted freqencies for Juneau does anyone have frequences or talkgroups for Whittier, Skagway and Ketchikan?

Thanks,
Linn

I was in Anchorage last week. The police cars all have 800 MHZ as well as 460 MHZ antennas on them. It appeared they were using the 800 MHZ for Mobile Video Terminals. I can verify that analog voice traffic is still very active on at least Channels 1 through 6 in the 460 MHZ frequencies (listed in the RR datebase). I did not try to monitor the VHF Fire Frequencies. I didn't bring a trunktracker with me as I was mainly interested in monitoring the Alaska Railroad which I did on my Kenwood TH-F6 Handheld (ham rig).

If anyone has additional detailed info on the Alaska RR frequencies and their use, I would appreciate having that info. I was able to hear RR traffic on 164.625, 165.335, 165.265 and 164.985. I know they use many other frequencies than these, but was unable to find them.
