Hello Group.
I have posted in the past my difficulties in trying to receive the Anderson P25 system on my Pro106 Scanner. Have gone through several antenna variations. "Ducky", RS 800, Omni-Directional Outdoor (with lmr 400 low loss cable), and Yagi 800mhz outdoor (same cabling). All with no to very little luck.
So, I finally bit the bullet and bought the new Uniden BCD436HP. First impressions: I am absolutely blown away. Decoding like a champ. Best results so far on the Yagi but will play around with the others and give a more detailed review in a week or so. Just got it yesterday.
I'm picking up all the talk groups on the Anderson P25 system very clear.
Setup: If you are very familiar with the overall concept of how the trunking systems operate, you will have no problem getting it up and running. It has the zip code function that loads the data base for you. ( I have not hooked it to the computer yet for more specific programming)
However, the zip code function will give you WAY more systems and groups than you will want to monitor. So again, if you KNOW what you want to listen to, and which system it is on, you can easily isolate it on the scanner.
Again, this is just a quick and dirty summary. Main reason for the post was to say that the scanner is operating well on the simulcast P25 system.
Regards
