On Sunday, April 6, Anderson SC sheriff deputies were advised to go to "TAC 45." This traffic was heard on the Anderson County SD Channel 1 (TG 62208) on the Palmetto-800 system. I attempted to discover this mystery channel, but nothing was heard on any of the national or state TAC frequencies. Nor did I hear any new TG's on the Palmetto-800 system. Any suggestions about this channel?

Complete shot in the dark, but two local PD's use "tac alarms" which are PD-installed alarms at businesses that a frequently robbed or held-up. They will be told to respond to Tac Alarm 27 (or whatever number is assigned to that alarm) and not give the address in case the thief is carrying his trusty scanner.

Another possibility is regional government 3 - which would include Anderson County. In the SCHP lineup, the talkgroup would be "channel" 45.
