Mehh Windows 8 will be out later this year and unify desktop and mobile. Google tried once with Chrome OS and that went no where.

Android Ice Cream Sandwich on HP Touchpad

I just loaded Android ICS Alpha 2 on my HP Tochpad and it is great !! I can now watch Netflix and have access to all the Android Apps.

The Hp Touchpad comes with WebOS. No support for Netflix and very few apps are available.

And I can dual boot. Skype does not work as of yet on ICS but Skype does a great job on WebOS.

ICS is a lot faster then WebOS as well.

Very easy to flash.

Now I actually use my Touchpad.

Chrome OS? What's that? :D

I have thought a few times about what I would do if/when my laptop dies. I think as I'm getting older, I'm demanding a lot less of my computers, and devices like tablets are becoming more capable. I'm wondering if I'd be better served by a tablet device to replace my laptop when it dies. I've already moved from a desktop to a laptop. Although "traditional" tower computers and thin clients would still be used for scanner feed streaming/recording, etc. Ice Cream Sandwich is pretty tasty.
