I too would like very much to control my BCD396XT from my Android, but I don't know of an app that will do it. The closest thing I know of is PROSCAN, but it's not a phone app.

I would also LOVE this. There are occasions when I want to listen to my scanners at home (streaming privately with Proscan), but don't have access to my laptop and can't bring a handheld with me.

I asked the maker of Proscan if he thought about developing an app that works with their Scanner Over IP feature and I was told it wasn't going to happen.

It's a shame because I would pay GOOD money for an Android app that controlled my scanners.

Setup Proscan and TeamViewer on the home computer. TeamViewer also has a app for the android phone. Use TeamViewer to get back to your home PC.

Tried that, TeamViewer does not support sound on Android devices :-/

Try splashtop - I use this for my android and iOS devices without issue. You may have to enable audio loop back in proscan for it to work but I have been using it for over 6 months to remote control and monitor my scanner.

I second Splashtop. If I have a problem with my feed, I can log in from anywhere from my android and fix the issue. It's also for Iphone as well.

Well I did try slapshot which worked a little bit. Except for the fact that I do not have a dual core PC, so Slapshot is very laggy. Teamviewer worked great on that PC but no audio which stinks. I am looking for something that can run on a PC with the Specs of:

1.2 Ghz P4 Processor
1 GB DDR2 RAM
96 MB Video RAM

I am resurrecting this thread because I am just wondering if there are any additional choices for this now? I have a legacy Slingbox PRO-HD that allows me to connect to multiple A/V sources. I am considering running audio from my Uniden Bearcat BCD996XT to see how well that works. While it certainly would not give me remote control over the BCD996XT, at least having audio is a start.

that's been a plan for a LONG time.

Yeah. I really hope it happens. I can't remember who's account it was but it was one of the creaters of freescan posted on a thread that they were finalizing it but that was about 2 months ago. It could happen or it could not. I really hope it does that would be nice.

You can control Uniden scanner via web browser in Android. Proscan web server must be running, connect to the Proscan webserver with Android browser, click on Turn On Scanner Control and you will see your scanner with live display and clickable buttons,

ProScan will NOT control the HP-1,the scanners it works with can be reviewed on their web site. Once you have the paid version of ProScan, updates are "free for life."
