Is there any way we can upload an animated .gif file for the avatar? I made up a cool one with various BCD396 screens that I thought would look cool and now it won't upload.

I think the put a halt to animated gifs about a year ago.

Apparently beyond a certain point they disabled the ability to use new animated avitars which is why I've kept the same one for quite some time.
Every now and then I see a new one but know that once I pull-the-plug on this one I won't be able to use another.
I believe the overall reason for the restriction was because some users chose some over-the-top animation that really distracted from the thread.
I don't think mine qualifies as that.

Well, that's too bad. It'd be nice i9f they considered allowing them again.
I agree. I was hoping one of the admins would chime in on why they were phased out.
