"One city dispatcher who's retiring is worried about a brain drain". I wonder what that means.

I'm surprised more agencies are not consolidating.

Hamilton County, Ohio (Cincinnati) has had a consolidated communications center since 1949.

They dispatch for over 100 different police and fire agencies in 42 political jurisdictions serving over 500,000 Hamilton County residents.
