Annapolis PD Unit Numbering

Anybody know how the unit numbers work in Annapolis?

The city is patroled by 5 platoons broken down into 6 posts. 11 and 12 posts cover the downtown city area. 13 and 14 cover the parole area and 15 and 16 eastport. The platoons are numbered 1 thru 5. Platoon one in the 11 post would be 111 car. Extra cars are the 18,20,21. Supervisors are 01 and 10 cars. Hope this helps..

Interesting for a PD department using a 12 hour schedule.

There are quite a few law enforcement agencies on the Eastern Shore that use a 12 hour schedule as well. I am not sure but I think other agencies across the country use it quite effectively. I sounds better than the current 6 on 3 off that Anne Arundel uses.

It just seems to be a long time to be driving around in a car, but I imagine that the 12hr shift is popular with officers. What would the work week be like?

The city is broken down into 6 posts 11/12 downtown/west annapolis 13/14 parole 15/16 eastport. With the new 12hr shifts there are two platoons with two squads, platoon 1 has squad A and B, platoon 2 has squad C and D. Platoon 1 is the midnight shift and platoon 2 is the day shift. The units are numbered by the platoon number followed by the post number, ex 111 is a platoon 1 officer working the 11 post. Sergents are 01 and Cpl's are 10 extra cars are 17,18,19,20.

400 units are special ops (Flex, K9, Narcotics,Traffic Unit, Foot Patrol)
700 units are any officers that are working secondary employment or an overtime asignment
