Anne Arundel County Fire Department Fire Alarm is on Condition Yellow again. This is the second time today. They are having problems with SME's. They are not allowed to go out unless offical business.

They have to leave there base stations open. What does that mean?

The base station is used as the dispatch medium. When the base station is "open" the speaker will carry all radio traffic regardless of which station the call is for. When the base station is "closed" the speaker will remain muted until the appropriate paging tone is decoded for that station. Just like a minitor pager.

3:06-Fire Alarm is on Condition Yellow.
3:18-Fire Alarm off of Condition Yellow.

I have been noticing that the 154.010 mhz paging frequency has been really scratchy.
