Very sad news.. Fireboat 19 just sunk. All 4 firefighters on the boat have been rescued and alive.. DNR did the rescue. They lost motors and started to take on water...

Losing power normally doesn’t sink you - unless the winds and wave heights are excessive. But yea, if they hadn’t lost propulsion, they probably would have been ok - or at least been able to return to dockage.

It has actually sunk before, and then the turbo caught fire, and then this ….. I don’t think there’s any saving it this time.

Then the weather was likely the primary cause. Looking at the boat makes me think it is more of a shallow water resource than a vessel that could safely operate in relatively open water during a small craft advisory. Need to find the specs.
