I'm thinking that FCC License WRBW974 will not be renewed. It was one of the first issued for the new system, and contains some oddball talkout freqs that no other new sites are using. There is also no slow growth letter on file associated with this callsign, and no mobile freqs listed. That means that sites in Upper Marlboro, Dunkirk and Belle Grove will not be built, but taking those away also brings the total sites to 22, which is is consistent with the specs the county has been using.

Also, the county still needs to license:

851.1375
852.6875
853.325
853.8375

to the New Crownsville site.

If you take the time to read the "environmental" impact documentation, you can see that Indian tribes now located in Oklahoma and elsewhere can extract fees to research if the site is being built on ancient tribal lands, lol.

Yea, WQYS649 was an oddball license: 854.1125 and 854.5375 are new freqs but are not licensed for any other site. 855.8375 is a new freq that is licensed to other sites, but is also covered at Greenbury Point on WREW377

Do you have a list of the new sites?

Seems that they are having SME/CAD issues. Units have to verbalize their statuses. Noticed it last night and this morning they announced that they are continuing on "Condition Yellow" and they are still verbalizing their statuses now.

Are the statuses still sent out over 800 RF or do they use the Cradlepoint LTE routers / iPads? I know the AVL uses the routers.

Still on Condition Yellow as of 1900, status changes to be made verbally and pressing the SME buttons.

It was originally over the 800mhz system but I am honestly not sure if it still is. If I had to guess, I believe so.

In the request, the county says it has started construction at the greenfield sites:

"WRCY532 2021 Extension Request

• The following processes in the County’s project plan are currently active:

o Site construction at new green field and colocation sites
o New antenna installation at existing sites
o Fiber backhaul outside plant construction
o Installation of antennas and new electrical systems at dispatch centers "

I haven't noticed any construction activity at any existing or new tower sites yet - something to be watching for to get a feel for schedule progress.

Antennas are now up on the Friendship site. No tower construction visible at the Glebe Heights site. The Friendship tower is noted as Completed on the FCC ASR website. The other proposed new towers are noted as Granted.

Looks like the new tower site construction at the Friendship site is complete - pretty large security compound with an equipment vault and generator. New antennas are up at the Jessup VFD site.

I'm noticing on more routine medical dispatches (sick person) that the word "proceed" is being used. Not sure how long this proword has been in use. Typically this indicates that the unit should navigate to the incident address, but follow all traffic laws and signals - aka no emergency lights / sirens.

Yup, that is what it means. People keep calling for non-emergencies the medic will drive like a normal vehicle to get there.

Recently I've heard instances where a medic unit already on the air asks whether they should "proceed" or "respond". Based on the above "respond" must mean lights, siren, etc.

A similar policy and terminology was instituted in Montgomery County as well, according to a chief's order issued earlier this year.
