Just got back from a week spent in the Murrell's Inle/Pawleys Island/Myrtle Beach area. Great trip, lots of good radio time. qball is of course correct that the Horry Couty TRS has not rebanded at this time. Still chugging away on the same frequencies. Great coverage down into Georgetown County now.
I did see a story on local TV news about the digital conversion of analog TV, and they tied that story in (incorrectly) with rebanding. Showed images of a bunch of XTS handhelds and a guy in a Myrtle Beach Communications T-shirt reprogramming radios. So perhaps the change is going to take place soon.
I was able to monitor the Myrtle Beach trunked radio system from my location with Trunk88, my preferred trunked radio decoder. Control channel was 852.2875, SysID 5d3a. So this system has rebanded. But, not a single voice comm on the system the entire time I monitored it. Trunk88 ran for 4 hours during the middle of the day during the middle of the week, 0 comms. So for now, I'd pronounce the system "abandoned" though it's curious that they rebanded it if it's going to be taken off the air.
I'll post other updates as I have the time.
