Anoka County P25 Phase

Is Anoka County P25 Phase I or II?? If Phase I will they be upgrading to phase II in the near future??

Currently Phase I, I have not heard anything about upgrading at this point. I’m sure someday they will but that could be in 10 years or 5.

Not enough congestion for phase2 and the is a lot of older xts hardware out there.

looking at purchasing a new radio, and wasn't sure if it was worth the extra $ to buy a Phase 2 capable radio.

[emoji848]... I think I'd buy phase two if I was buying one, but I'll travel with mine. Small expense and you won't get pinched out if the technology suddenly changes or you find a new system you want to listen to.

I talked with my radio techs at work and they have heard nothing about migration and we have a number of talkgroups that would be candidates for p2.

There just isn't enough congestion here to necessitate the expense. P2 isn't around for security, it's for bandwidth congestion (and to make Motorola a ton more [emoji383][emoji383][emoji383][emoji383]).
