Another antenna question

I cannot use a tower in my area, are the handmade dipole or "slinky" antennas worth the 25$ investment for the 800+ digital range??

Not at all - your best bet would be to get something cut for 800mhz. But before anyone can suggest anything - can you put anything outside? If not, can you get to your attic (not nearly as good, but way better than just putting it in a room...)? Is 800 the only thing you're interested in - if not, what else? Be specific - the more specifics and answers, the better the recommendations
