Yes another question about the Austin Spectra mobile antenna but my first question ever about this antenna...Yes, I live in a very deed restricted neighborhood and I must follow a lot of rules for my neighborhood or I'll get fined. Now my question how good is this Austin Spectra antenna? How's the db gain on it? Also is this antenna being discontinued? Also will a Comet CP-5m lip mount work or will I need to buy a NMO mount?

For its size the Spectra is good but it doesn't really have any gain. It does need to be mounted to a sheet of metal or have ground radials. The size of the metal or radials will depend on the lowest band you need. For VHF hi a diameter of 32" would be good, UHF 12" and 800MHz 6" diameter is ok.
