Dave Whiting's a good guy. I've had some dealings with him in the past on non-radio matters.

Thanks for sharing this article. I don't subscribe to the Register anymore, mainly because in the past they made so many factual errors, not to mention spelling and grammatical errors, that my wife just couldn't stand it. We're both journalism school graduates and we're both ex newspaper reporters. So we now get the Los Angeles Times and, while a much more literate newspaper, they don't have the local coverage that the Register has.

In all fairness, they seem to do that in the present, too.

I get them on Thursday through Sunday home delivery for $25 a year. I got tired of paying more than that for full-time. I do like the comics :) and ads.

I'm looking forward to Field Day... now that I have an HF rig, I need to get ideas about portable setups. Are you going to any events in OC?

Where are some of the events being held? And when? I very well might come out to one to check out all the new equipment people have.

Is field day held on a single day nationally? If so, what's that day?
The ARRL Field Day exercise is held each year. From the ARRL web site: "Field Day is always the fourth full weekend of June, beginning at 1800 UTC Saturday and running through 2059 UTC Sunday."
