Here's another strange one. The only thing I could think of is a wireless keyboard in the neighborhood? There are actually two signals interleaving here. The main one was varying about 1500 Hz while the secondary was >500Hz. Any ideas?

Well 26.9950mhz. is a remote control freq. Could you be hearing a child's toy?

The waveform was continuous. The R/C signals I have listened to in the past seem to be more of the "burst" type. Plus its still transmitting over 7.5 hours later...

Several scanners that I have owned have "received" odd noises on whole megahertz frequency settings. I doubt you are receiving an actual external signal.

Most cable modems transmit their uplink signal in that range, possibly you are hearing some uplink "leakage"

Yeah that's a weird one, don't see that here and don't recall having seen that signature before.

It's possible. The modem is transmitting on 42 MHz currently, but can theroretically swing to any frequency across the CATV sub-band (HF spectrum). And mine is about 6 ft away from the SDR-IQ. I'll have to disconnect the modem and see what happens...

So right now it appears to be idle (or if its oscillating, its much too slow for me to see at a glance). About three hours ago it was still in full swing, as it was last night when I posted.

So the hunt begins... what devices in the house have been shut off that were on last night?
