Antenex EXE821SM Antenna

I broke down and purchased an EXE821SM antenna from Laird/Antenex and I must say the thing is absolute garbage when I use it on my BCD396T. The sad thing is I cannot hear an EDACS system 2 miles from me with the antenna on my radio, but I can hear it without an antenna! Even the stock antenna is better then this overpriced piece of junk.

Those of you not familiar with the model number, Scannermaster sells them.

Although I don't own the model in question I have purchased other Antennex products and found them to be of exceptional quality.

Given the parameters specified I think we need to consider the possibility that you have a defective unit; you should seek a replacement.

I am having another one shipped to me, so we will see if it defective or just junk.

I know this post is old but i was told to buy this antenna from r r comunications in delaware and agree that it is junk or is it just me using my 346xt
