All,

I have a BC147XLT scanner without an antenna. I am looking to host a feed online for the department I work for, 22 miles from home. Even with the proper antenna for the scanner I don't think it would pick up the area I'm looking to scan, but with a simple exterior scanner it would for sure. (It might with the original antenna, as they have a pretty good repeater, but I don't know).

My question - do they make an adapter of some sort to plug into the antenna slot and then use some other adapter so I could hook an external antenna to this? Any ideas on where to purchase such an item?

Thanks

The connector on that scanner is called a "Motorola Jack". I've not found any specific Motorola Female to BNC adapters, but there are solderless Motorola plugs out there (including RadioShack.com) that you could use to make your own.
