I have the radio shack disncone antenna that I only use for my scanner. does anyone know how much to trim off the center rod to get good reception on the 500mhz band from distant signals. I can pick them up fine in my driveway with a magnetic antenna on my truck but I can not seem to pick them up on my antenna on the roof of my house. Thanks
