I am new to this so bear with me if this is a dumb issue. I bought a 2 meter 5/8 wave mobile mag mount antenna for my pro 106 scanner. I have to use a pl259 to bnc adapter, the issue is my reception is awful when I connect it to the adapter. I experimented with it last night and discovered that when I unscrew it from the adapter and just touch the tip of the pl259 to the the brass insert on the adapter. I get crystal clear reception. So I am assuming I am not getting a good connection inside the adapter. Is there a fix for this?
