Sorry for the crude picture but I am wondering if this is the correct wiring for what I am doing. Also for the grounding line on the Rg11 cable. What should I connect it to on each end. I am not sure if I should go from the amp a the scanner or a copper pipe in the house etc..

Thanks

Looks good.

Ground everything.

Only problem I see is you are using "fuzzy" coax.

Funny, haha.

If I just run the messenger wire on the coax from the antenna, to the amp to the grounding in the house that should be ok?

RG6-U Quad Shield should be your minimum coax.

Ground EVERYTHING to a common ground. 8 ft copper clad rod hammered into the ground near the antenna base.

First off just a general WHY? about the drop amp...just curious.
The antenna should be grounded at the base of the mast/tower, (when I say grounded, I mean cable to a ground rod into the ground. Search this, and you should find instructions and such) The feedline should have a lightning arrestor inline somewhere. The drop amp could be attached to any normal ground you can get from inside the house. This s simply for static dissipation. Simply connecting the entire system to an electrical ground will do nothing for lightining.
