Hello,
I've recently purchased the 4:1 Current Balun (4:1 Current Balun QRO) to use in my 160m skywire loop antenna.
Currently I have the antenna wire ends connected directly to the balun and from the balun there is a 10m coaxial cable connecting it to the SDR.
I listen mostly from 3 to 15MHz, shortwave listening and not so much monitoring/transmitting in ham bands.
So, I wonder if it will be an improvement in performance if I instead connect the antenna wire ends to a 300ohm or 450ohm ladder line and put the balun near the radio connecting a short rg58 coax cable from the balun to the radio (see picture attached). Or is it not worth the time and effort?
Thank you!
