What type of antenna can be used on back of scanne.

Outdoor I don't like lighting storms.

Thanks for any early replies.

Depends on what type of Band you listen to. Me, mostly 800 Trunked with one conventional channel so I went with the Radio Shack 800 Duckie with an elbow adapter on the back of my BCT-15's and I have 5 bars on the signal meter for the control channel

If you are looking for a back-of-set antenna, then why not just use the factory supplied telescoping whip? There isn't much else you can get that attaches to the back of the scanner that will do much better for all band listening, unless all you care about is the 800MHz band. Then, you could try the Radio Shack 800MHz rubber duck and attach it with a right angle BNC connector. Otherwise, stick with the supplied telescoping whip. If you really want to make a difference in reception, put up an outside antenna, or mount one in an attic, providing you have an attic.

The Diamond RH77CA works great for me. Receives 120/150/300/450/800/and 900 Mhz. Also transmits there also if the need be.
