The scanner model doesn't determine the antenna. It depends on the frequencies you will be monitoring and if you need a mobile, base, or back-of-set antenna setup.

Dudeboy6 if you are looking to listen to anything between 25mghtz and 1gig on a home base scanner
go to N9TAX Web Station! and buy his dual band j pole and tell him what kind of a connector you need whether its BNC or SMA or reverse SMA its like 27.99 i think and i use one on one my BCD996XT you just release the velcro straighten it hang it up with a thumb tack and connect to your scanner boom done,if you move take the tack out roll it up wrap the verso around it again(it stays attached) stick it in your pocket and away you go, He Makes really good stuff i swear by his Jpoles.
