Antenna for Dual Band Radio

Just get the Larsen dual band antenna. Bought mine in 1992, still using it today, SWR 1:1. End of story.

The OP stated he wished to operated part 90 as well, the NMO 2/70 does not have the bandwidth to do both. While it is a half wave on VHF, it does not have the wide band characteristics that the WB150 has.

I have been using my Larsen on GMRS for years as well. 90% 447 tx, & 10% 467 tx. Never checked SWR on 467, but it works great, & the radio does not complain.

I appreciate the Mods keeping this open. I've enjoyed the conversation, and really appreciate the assistance.

I just ordered a 1/4 wave whip, and a replacement 5/8 wave whip from HRO. Should be in in a couple days.

I'll probably get a Larsen dual band just for giggles, and for the rare occasions when I have to switch vehicles, but in the work truck, I'll run a 1/4 wave.
