How good would an antenna be inside the trunk of a car? For transmitting and receiving, approx 50 watts? It cant be visible and I have not been able to come up with any great solutions...i know you can get covert antennas but they are extremely expensive and do not fit on this car. Any ideas? Thanks! Ive tried those patch antennas that go on the interior of the glass as well, didnt work worth beans on this car

Under a steel trunk lid, I would expect it to work like crap.

Unless the car is made of fiberglass, the patch antenna would work much better than putting an antenna in the trunk. Since you are planning on transmitting, the life of the the transmitter would be rather short with an antenna in the trunk.

Why don't you tell us the type of car and the band, as both of these might help you get a workable answer to your antenna problem.
