Antenna Grounding

I am getting a new Diamond D130J Antenna very shortly, and I want to make sure that I perform the proper grounding to keep the scanner as safe as possible.
What gauge wire is recommended for a grounding wire, and what are the recommendations for a safe grounding method ?
Any help here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks............

#6 at an absolute minimum, no radii smaller than 12" (no sharp bends).

Ground should consist of at least 4 10 foot (minimum) ground rods at least 10 feet apart (in a closed pattern - rectangle, etc.), wired daisy-chain (one to the next), with the grounding point at one of the rods. House ground (AC power, telephone, cable) should all be connected to this point.
