Antenna identification help

Can someone help me identify this antenna?I bought a house with this already mounted to a peak.the previous owner was a fireman and I thought maybe it was for a scanner.

Looks like a Radio Shack 20-176 scanner antenna to me, AKA the “Sputnik”.

That sputnik is a pretty good antenna. Just make sure its properly grounded.

Covers 108-1300MHz with peak performance occurring in the 152-470MHz range

It worked great on 7/8/900 freqs but those are local to me and everyone's mileage will vary depending on the usual factors that involve reception.
