Here are my antenna pics. I've been working on my shack pics as the issues are complex and a little tedious. They're coming soon.

Trivec-Avant AV2040-2 Antenna

I use this antenna for listening to satellites and sometimes UHF LOS. I also have a slighlty different model, the AV2040-3 that has different directing elements. These are often found on auction sites for a couple hundred dollars in great condition.

Just be sure that the radiating elements do not fly off and break the circuit board as you open them. This is a common breaking point as they age and are left outside. Also, just like a well used HK MP5, they tend to turn purple as the aluminum anodizing wears.

Here I was using an older Icom IC-T7H dual band handheld, hard to see near one of the legs as the antenna dwarfs the radio, to listen to some un-encrypted voice traffic over UFO satellites. (Rare for it to be un-encrypted, but I knew who was making the transmission and exactly when it would happen.) This is usually not the case.

Here are a couple pictures of my rooftop antennas. Pictures aren't that great. Next time im up on the room I will get some better photos. The taller vertical is a homebrew 2 meter collinear inside of PVC. The shorter vertical is a Diamond X50. The yagi is a homemade 3 element tuned to the railroad band and is the primary receiving antenna for my online feed.

This is a pic of my attic antenna that I just installed using some extra Directv elbow arm. Had to keep it in the attic due to HOA issues. Its a Diamond D130J. Not alot of gain but have the bandwidth.

Very nice on how you have the coax lines entering the house. Professional and keeps those unwanted pests out.

My little tower I made for the roof of my work today, ST-2 on a 3' satellite tripod with a 10' stick of 1.25" conduit.

I decided to do something different this time, plus I'm in a rental right now, so I have dish elbow style mounts on the eve. First antenna (far left) id an old MonR B-52 or something like that, that's on a Tram base ground plane mount, which monitors the VHF and UHF activity in the area. The second antenna (middle) is a Comet GP-3 dual band ham antenna. The third (far right) is a Maxrad 800MHz antenna, also on a Tram base ground plane mount, which I use for the countywide 800MHz system. Nothing fancy like a lot of you guys have, but it works for me!

Mike
