The largest satcom antenna in the back and the smallest one to the right came from the Dayton Hamfest. One of my Dayton travel buddies saw the big one on display and said “if you buy that ugly thing you win the prize this year”, so I did. The long one in the front was a prototype from a local company that was given to me and the rest came from Ebay. Prices paid on Ebay ranged from $104 to $160. You need to do some creative searching to find the ones that people don’t advertise properly or the price will be about triple. You can also try Murphys Surplus for satcom antennas. http://www.murphyjunk.bizland.com/index.html

Usually I just hook up my hand-held scanner to it lol. I am just starting out with scanning so I only have one scanner. I am going to buy a pro-2096 soon to monitor Ohio MARCS because it is digital. The bottom antenna is an FM only and I do recieve pretty good siganal but it is quite directional and it does a good job on fire/rescue dispatch (453.950) and I have it aimed toward the county control. I mostly monitor fire dispatch in my area, but that antenna was originally intended for an fm reciever. Is steel cable good enough for ground? I used that as a substitute for copper. When I get $$ i'll upgrade to copper later.

Oh btw that metal looking frame in the lower left hand corner is a ladder. Just incase anyone thought it a tower or something. I wish my mom would let me build a tower lol! I fell of that ladder back in June when I put up those antennas. I fell about ten feet off the roof and God sure had his hand on me because I only walked away with scrapes and bruises and I am blessed that I did not break any bones. HAs anyone here ever gotten hurt/ close calls when working on antennas?

The only area fit for pictures is the vintage radio room, which is probably not too interesting for this forum. I'm not feeling too excited about posting pics of what most of the antennas are connected too. It even scares me at times.
