Antenna Recommendation

Jay can you recommend a good antenna for my PRS 500, nothing for the car or my roof, i`m just looking to replace the antenna thats on it now, to something better, I find myself stuck to my window at nights with this current antenna that came with it. Also does the female BNC connector on this unit screw / pluck off?, or will I need an BNC adapter if i choose to get a screw in antenna

You don't want a screw-on antenna - those are called SMA antennas. GRE uses simple BNC connector antennas.

The antennas I've used on all my scanners for years now are the Diamond RH-77CA whips. They're longer than the ones you get on things like the PSR-500, but they seem to do a good job.

Scanner Master doesn't seem to have them, but you can order them from Universal Radio: Diamond RH77CA Amateur HT Antenna

Thanks Jay, My friend his this antenna and gave it to me, but it has a SMA connector, is their an adapter I can pick up for this ? or should i just order the BNC version ?
