Antenna Recommendation

Looking for recommendations on a tri band antenna and base mount for a home scanner. And coax with BNC connector. Mainly monitor between 150mhz and the Viper P25 systems. Please include links.

Which would perform better, a discone or a triband mobile antenna with a groundplane mount for home use?

The latter would have some gain, discones are zero gain. The only problem would be if you ever wanted to try to monitor something way outside of the tri-band coverage. I think most of us would accept this in light of the tri-band's better performance. I had one up for awhile, it was great on VHF-Hi and UHF...unfortunately it badly overloaded the scanner on the statewide TSYS here. I'm thinking of getting a band-specific inline attenuator and putting it back up.
