WS1040: Antenna Replacement

Hello all..

I'm looking for good recommendations for a replacement (mobile) antenna for my WS1040. I live in Euclid, OH and am in simulcast hell. Short of putting money out for an SDS100 which i can't afford, I'm thinking that a better antenna other than the stock will help....even if it's just a little. Please provide an Amazon link if possible It's just easier to order from there since I'm a prime member. I have seen a couple Diamond brand on there but figured I would get opinions from folks that have experience with the 1040 and simulcast systems in the 800 range.

Maybe a paperclip or small race stubby? A "better antenna" will just make the distortion worse.
