I have a couple of old A/S antenna but cant determine exactly where the 800 MHz choke is suppose to be mounted on the lower element. Can anyone tell me how far below the center coil or above the bottom coil this choke should be fastened. For optimal performance should the choke be located in different locations for the 700 or 800 MHz bands?

I have one and the measurements I got were 2 1/4 inches below coil, and the bottom of the choke to the top of the base is 6 1/4 inches.

Can you add a micro choke to an older Mon antenna and if so where can you find one?

I have three 52s mine all measure 2.5 inchesdown from the center load the manual states the micro choke should not be moved as for adding one to a mon33 i wouldn't think so, but i have 9 33s i was wanting to convert to 52s I'll look into this, the micro choke would be a hard item to locate i would bet. No idea wherea person would find a choke by it's self, hope this helps

Be happy to, 1st off I'm no expert, that being said, seems the antenna shaft it's self is some sorta stainless alloy, and the bottom part of the antenna shaft that the little 5/16 wrench fits on to tighten the shaft to the black base coil, my friend who a machinist says it looks to be nickel coated brass, that is pressed on, not threaded, if a person could get that off and was lucky enough to locate a micro choke, then yead i would think a person could make a mon52 out of a none micro choke model "mon33" ect, i have had NO luck at locating a micro choke. A person could have a choke made, but I'm not going to that extreme, especially sence i agree with my friend, that bottom piece is a press fit not threaded, if anyone can add more please do, hope this helps, I'll try and post some images soon.
