I believe it is the Mon 51 which is a mobile ant. by Antenna Specialists. Do they still make these?

I don't know about that one, but I wish they still made the monr 31. It was an excellent base antenna for vhf high and low band, as well as uhf (400mhz). It was a ground plane with three long radials.

I used to use the Antenna Specialist MON series of base and mobile scanner antennas. Yes, they worked great. I used the base version-I don't remember the exact model number, it was MON something, and it had 65" long radials- as my primary base scanner antenna for years. It worked great. The mobile version was like over four feet long, but it was hard to beat especially for VHF low band.

They're getting hard to find anymore. I believe even Scanners Unlimited stopped selling them. I did find one on the 'net, the price was over a hundred dollars!

The MON5x series of antennas were replaced about two years ago by the MON75x series. They are more expensive and IMHO not as good as the older antennas. They are also significantly longer.

I used the older antennas for years and they were great. Lately, I've started using the Hustler MOR and MOT antennas. Much cheaper and they seem to perform just as well.

The Antenna Specialists Mon 51 mobile antenna is about maybe 2 feet in length with a coil in the middle. Did they discontinue making these?

I have 3 of them but one has a shortened cable from the hatch hitting it and another has a bad connector but magnet and antenna parts are fine.
