Hi All, when I first joined the forum I was looking through a lot of posts. One of the post was about recommended antenna/aerial upgrade for the Uniden UBC75XLT scanner. I have looked everywhere for this post but can't find it anywhere so would be grateful if you could recommend a better antenna/aerial for the scanner. Many thanks.

backward

having 5 old base stations i program the radio for the antenna
one radio for 800, one for 400, one for 150.kind of thing.
one is right next to me with the banks set up like that
so when something happens i adjust the antenna for what band i need.
this is the reason for having multiple radios !

Thanks for all the replies. Wow I've got a lot to learn with owning a scanner lol. It's mainly marine, and local small aircraft I'm interested in as I have a holiday home near the coast and also fly a drone in the nearby fields. Thanks for your help.

look around

shop for an antenna for a two way.
i have what i think is a motorola 150 murs antenna.
it does great from 118 to 174.
so if that is your range shop for that antenna.
ANY antenna will pick up stuff.
being tuned helps a bit.

You want to look for antennas tuned for VHF high, 118mz to 174mz and if you include military air, up to the 370mz range.
