Well yes it was and was no accident. Some people just don't like them. I was just curious as to how many guys have a rig like this and what kind of antenna this is.

What is the story about it coming down?

The antenna is a Mosley TA-36 with the added TA-40KR traps on the driven element. Meaning the antenna was a tribander covering 20, 15, and 10 meters with several elements on each band, and modified with an add on kit to cover 40 meters as a rotatable dipole.

Good grief! Was that yours? Did you aggravate the neighbors, or was it a random act?

The person that did this was no friend of yours.

My sister thought it was in the way and ugly, after buying the house. I am kinda trolling, I guess. lol
I dont have any radios or knowledge to speak of, but tried to change her mind. Give me money #'s and I will make her guilty (or try). I do have some more pics, including some kinda chart with settings, from the old guy who lived there. The chart was in basement and had cables going from it to the antennae to adjust it.

I'm estimating she threw about $1500 (maybe half that in secondary market) into the dumpster.

To the Op, I'm guessing your sister just doesn't understand that antennas are a good thing, not bad! :(

You have to worry about the people who don't have the common sense to ask before they go destroying good gear. She lost quite a few dollars there and she still has to pay someone to take it to the tip.

If the old guy used a proper mounting plate (So small and two holes?) and base sister would have found out real quick front end loaders cost a LOT more than antennas... heh heh heh.

Thanks for the reply's, I was thinking that it was worth more money. That description by Token sounds cool but over my head. I was thinking this would be like $5000 to replace it new.

What a shame.
It doesn't appear to have a rotor up top so I would guess maybe he had rigged the base for "armstrong" rotation and the scale in the basement may have been in indicator for where it was aimed using some sort of belts and pulleys etc.

Sad end to what was once a nice set up.

As far as direction of the array? I really don't need to know the direction, I let the S-Meter be my guide.
